Pumpkin Show 2023 "the EIFEL ROCKS"

From 01 September to 03 November, the Krewelshof Eifel invites you to the largest pumpkin exhibition in NRW

We all love a good pumpkin patch in Germany – but we took it one step further and are building XXL Pumpkin Figures. These figures are approx. 3 meters high and are placed on a field around a small lake. The whole area is on the ground floor and the restaurant and farm shop is also wheelchair- accessible. Strollers are welcome, just a heads up: some XXL versions might be difficult to navigate in the farm shop.

Every year, the planning for the pumpkin exhibition starts in February and we are so exited to finally show you the beautiful end product! The whole team worked on the displays for so many months! Did you know that the exhibition includes more than 100 000 pumpkins ? This will create lasting memories for the whole family – and the most beautiful autumn pictures.

All important information about the pumpkin show

When

September to November – open daily from 11am to 5.30pm. Last Entry: 5pm (Caution: our entrance gate / parking closes at 6 pm!!)

Where

Krewelshof 1, 53894 Mechernich – only 1 km from the highway A1 – plenty of free parking spaces available.

Please note:

The pumpkin show is an art exhibition, please pay special attention to our pumpkin figures and other exhibits. Parents are asked to exercise their duty of care towards their children. Dogs are very welcome with us. Please lead them on a leash and remove their legacies. Please do not pick corn on the cob, these are intended as fodder for our animals. Please note our parking regulations. We thank you for your understanding and wish you a lot of fun at the Krewelshof pumpkin show.

What is there to discover at the pumpkin show?

Stroll through the pumpkin fields and enjoy the scent of fresh harvest at our pumpkin exhibition. The focus is on tasting and tasting: Whether pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie or other delicious pumpkin dishes – let yourself be enchanted by the culinary creations. In addition to the variety of pumpkins, other exciting activities await you at the Krewelshof pumpkin show: fairy tale hours for the little ones, pumpkin carving for the creative types or a pumpkin & farm tour through the picturesque landscape of the Eifel. There is fun and entertainment for the whole family.

GOOD TO KNOW - Restaurant:

You will find a farm shop, a self-service restaurant and the biggest pumpkins selection in NRW!

Most cash registries happily accept the usual debit/credit cards (Maestro, Visa, Mastercard).

Open every day: a delicious breakfast buffet -including coffee and more- from 9.00 – 11.30 am – a reservation is strongly advised and can be completed via our online booking system:

Pro Tip: Sundays are full – if you prefer a quieter time, we would love to welcome you during the weekdays. We are open every day. The restaurants are family styled = self-service. Take what you want & pay at the cash registry. Then head to the tables and just enjoy – no one will try to sell you more drinks at the table. Almost everyone at the cash registries speaks English – you might just have to speak a little bit slower :).

You do NOT have to buy tickets in advance. Don’t worry – everyone will be let in. We are working on offering online tickets, but at the moment, you can only buy the tickets at the entrance of the pumpkin exhibition. Pumpkin carving (small fee) : Every weekend in September and October AND every day during the NRW autumn holidays Parking is free. The whole premises close at 6pm – including the parking space’s exit gate. So don’t get lost in the corn maze ;).

Please do not consume food that you brought along from home. Baby formula or special dietary requirements are an exception. Gluten-free bread is available at our breakfast buffet (please state this preference at the time of reservation). Baby changing tables are available. Wheel-chair accessible toilets as well. Visit Lohmar:

While the Krewelshof Eifel is more focussed on the pumpkin exhibition, the Krewelshof Lohmar is more focussed on the bakery/confectionery and cheese dairy. In the self-service restaurant you will find a broad breakfast buffet, fresh lunches and delicious homemade cake every day. Also, the family park with a kids playground is only in Lohmar. The family park with the corn maze is interesting for kids aged 1,5 – 10 years old. The farm shop in Lohmar offers a wide range of products and many types of pumpkins – edible pumpkins and decorational pumpkins.

KÜRBIS WIEGEMEISTERSCHAFT Krewelshof (LOHMAR) "DIE GIGANTEN KOMMEN" - SONNTAG, 10. SEPT.

The Farm in Lohmar (Krewelshof Lohmar) hosts the iconic original pumpkin pyramid. You can visit it for free. For more kids activities, visit the family park in Lohmar with many play opportunities & a corn maze (entrance fee). You will also find a farm shop and restaurant. It’s only 20 min from the Dome in Köln – perfect for the quick dose of family fun. It’s about 30 min from Bonn. Plenty of parking spaces available.

For the most visited flea market in the region: visit Lohmar on the last Sunday of every month. The flea market is focussed solely on kids clothes and toys. Parking limited. Booking of a sales stand only via our website (usually sold out in 5 min).

By the way …

We are open 364 days a year! Not only during the pumpkin season ;).

Come by any day for a delicious breakfast buffet (Mo – Sun). Or visit our spring exhibition in Mai –June, it‘s similar to the pumpkin show but with a focus on flowers.

And obviously our exhibitions have new themes = new sculptures every year.

Farm:

All the pumpkins are produced on our family farm! The fields are max. 1,5 km from the Krewelshof Eifel – so as local as you can get! We also produce many other delicious fruits & vegetables: strawberries, potatoes, asparagus, apples, cherries, plums, pears and Christmas trees.

Also: All baked goods & cakes are produced in our own bakery & confectionery. The milk + cheese is produced in our cheese dairy – with the help of 80 lovely girls – our goats :).

On pumpkins fields everywhere you will see that pumpkins grow on a small dam covered in black foil. On our farm, this ‚foil‘ is 100% biodegradable corn starch. It will decay into corn starch within a few weeks. This is one of the projects that is closest to our heart – for many years now we have had 100% plastic-free pumpkin fields!
